It's been a busy couple of weeks, but I finally have time to update so here it goes.
I had my 30 week appointment about a week and a half ago. Everything looks good & Maddie is measuring a little ahead. She's stubborn like her parents though and hasn't turned yet, so as of right now she's breech. She still has a little time to turn, so we're hoping she'll find her sense of direction and flip. If she doesn't flip we have the option to have the doctors try to flip her, but I don't think we're going to try it - It can be pretty painful & it's not always effective. Other than that, if she doesn't flip we'll schedule a c-section for early February. Apparently there are several things I can try at home to encourage her to turn - Some make some sense and some seem downright crazy, but as the weeks go by we'll see how desperate I get.
I had my company Christmas party last weekend and looking at the pictures made me realize how big I'm really getting. I guess that's bound to happen now that Maddie weighs almost 3.5 pounds.
We're looking forward to Christmas this week and seeing all of our family. I'm still trying to grasp the fact that this is our last Christmas just the two of us - Next year we'll have a ten month old!!
Here's what babycenter has to say this week & some pictures:
This week, your baby measures over 16 inches long. She weighs about 3.3 pounds (try carrying four navel oranges) and is heading into a growth spurt. She can turn her head from side to side, and her arms, legs, and body are beginning to plump out as needed fat accumulates underneath her skin. She's probably moving a lot, too, so you may have trouble sleeping because your baby's kicks and somersaults keep you up. Take comfort: All this moving is a sign that your baby is active and healthy.
